Marc Eldon Lorenzen, the son of Clifford and Lulu (Clapsaddle) Lorenzen, was born on October 7, 1936, on the farm in Silver Creek Township, rural Galva, Iowa. He received his education from Galva High School graduating with the class of 1955. After graduation, Marc began his lifelong career farming.

On November 8, 1958, Marc married Gleneva Allen in the United Methodist Church in Galva. The couple settled on a farm in the Arthur, Iowa, area raising their four children: Ron, Bob, Jan, and Joyce. The couple resided and shared a life on the farm for 63 years. Marc filled his days with farming and tending to livestock. Walking beans and then eventually riding beans was the normal activity for his summers.

Marc enjoyed swimming, playing cards, and putting puzzles together. He loved his daily dish of Schwanz ice cream. Marc was known as the master mover because he could fit an entire apartment into his horse trailer. He was adored by his entire family and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
