Patrick “Pat” Andrews was born March 31, 1957, in Clear Lake, South Dakota to Kenneth and Susan (Dalrymple) Andrews.  Pat was raised in Des Moines.  He served in the U. S. Army in Des Moines, Iowa. He was employed at various jobs, including driving truck and working at Vet’s Auditorium.  Pat worked at state fairs in the Midwest, but particularly enjoyed working at the Iowa State Fair.  More recently he was employed at Pronto in Ida Grove until his health continued to fail.

Pat had a quick wit, keen sense of humor, a genuine smile and easily made friends.

In 1984, he married Tina Jacobsen in Des Moines.  They later divorced.  To this union they had two children: Allison and Jacob.

Pat fought a courageous 2 ½ year battle with stomach cancer.  Pat’s favorite saying was “It is what it is.”  He moved two years ago from Des Moines to be closer to his brother and sister-in-law.  Pat was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ida Grove.

Pat is survived by his brother Mike (Patti) of Ida Grove, Iowa; his daughter Allison and son Jacob of Des Moines, Iowa; several cousins, and 3 nieces and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A special thank you to the Hospice staff of Horn Memorial Hospital.

“Mike and Patti
Thinking of you both during this time. You both have done so much for so many people and Pat was so blessed to have both of you in his life. Losing a brother is like losing a part of yourself, and you will never forget the closeness you have had for the last years. God bless both of you and your families. "It'll be fine" love you both”
