After graduating high school, Judy went on to further her education at NBT business school, where she earned a secretary degree.

Judy was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served on the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Auxiliary. She loved to volunteer and belonged to the Morningside Auxiliary, Horn Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and several card clubs. Judy was an Ombudsman advocating for care centers.

Judy loved to travel to various locations with Larry, her sister and her brother-in-law. She enjoyed going on bank trips with Larry, the most memorable being Alaska. “Larry and all of Judy's family, I am so sorry about Judy's passing. We have to remember she is in a better place now and there is no pain or cancer in Heaven. She got to spend Christmas with Jesus and her parents. I went to business school with Judy and Joan. The friendship has lasted for over 50 years. Never met her grandchildren but she was very proud of them. You will have to talk to them about all the neat and good memories you have of her to them. God be with you now and forever. Becky Schelm”

“Lawrence and family,
just wanted you to know that we are thinking of you and praying for your peace at this sad time. I am now retired from the bank in Schleswig and I have always enjoyed visiting with both of you when you were in town. I saw Judy while shopping a while ago and she told me she was again battling health problems and I told her I would pray for her. God's plan is not always our plan but He always knows best and He will never leave our side. May He wrap His loving arms around you and your family and give you His eternal peace. God Bless you always in ALL ways. ”
