Rose Ann Ladwig, the daughter of Lawrence and Isabella (Jacoby) Steele, was born on September 5, 1949. She grew up in the Danbury and Mapleton, IA area and graduated from Mapleton High School with the class of 1968.

On June 1, 1968, Rose married the love of her life Howard A. Ladwig in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury, IA. The couple settled in Ida Grove, IA and were blessed with a daughter Lori and son Travis.

In her younger years, Rose worked various jobs before becoming employed as an assistant librarian with Ida Grove Public Schools later on known as BCIG. This friendly face and warm smile helped our youth find books and grow in knowledge for 28 years before retiring.

She enjoyed weekends on the back of her husband Howard's motorcycle, tending to her garden and flower beds, snuggling with her dog CoCo and her cat Zoey. Rose treasured her time spent with family and adored her grandbabies.
