Keith W. Luft, age 52, of Emmetsburg, Iowa passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Kathleen’s Care of Emmetsburg, Iowa.

A Private Family Service will be held with Rev. Donohue Sarff officiating. The Christensen – Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online at

Keith William Luft, the son of Calvin Luft and Marian (Neumann) Stevenson, was born on June 29, 1967, in Ida Grove, Iowa. He grew up in the Schaller and Storm Lake, Iowa areas and graduated from Brown School. Keith spent the last six years living at Kathleen’s Residential Care in Emmetsburg, IA with the staff and residents he considered his family.

Keith loved visiting with people and helping people in a number of ways.  He also enjoyed spending time with dogs, rooting on the Iowa State Cyclones, playing cards, and was an avid Rocky Balboa fan. He had the most amazing sense of humor and was always so positive.  He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory include his mother Marian Stevenson of Spirit Lake, IA; brother David Luft of Early, IA; sisters Gaye Lynn (Phil) Sarff of Apple Valley, MN and Carol (Rick) Jones of Johnston, IA; nieces and nephews Jessica (Phil) Lange, Andrew (Kelsey) Sarff, Collin Jones and Ben Jones; great niece and nephew Emerson and Virginia “Ginny” Lange.

 He was preceded in death by father Calvin Luft; his maternal and paternal grandparents.
