Rebecca Leigh Cedeño, the daughter of Louis and Jenniffer (Kron) Cedeño, was born on March 28, 2001, in Ida Grove, Iowa. She grew up in Ida Grove and received her education from OABCIG High School graduating with the class of 2019. Rebecca was currently attending college at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Rebecca was an avid reader who could be found going back and forth between multiple books at the same time. She also enjoyed drawing and painting in her spare time. During her high school years, Rebecca was a member of the choir. One of her proudest moments was her solo during their performance of Dream On. You may remember her riding her bike and her warm, friendly smile as a cashier at Food Pride.

Rebecca will be remembered by all who knew her as being one of the sweetest and kindest girls. To her family, she was definitely a little firecracker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Rebecca was an amazing daughter, feisty sister, and loving aunt.

Left to cherish her memory include her mother Jenniffer and stepfather Shannon Hopkins of Ida Grove, IA; father Louis Cedeño of Ida Grove, IA; sisters Emily, Kelsie, Melissa, and Destiny; brothers Joseph and Jaxon; nephews, Colton and Connor; nieces Chelsie and Evelyn; grandparents Gary Kron, Dorothy (Gil) Schoba, Herbie (Benita) Cedeño and Laure Sweet; great grandmother Marge Rath; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and not sister by blood but sister by heart, Brooke Little.

“My teaching partner, Dr. Kate Sanders and I, Dr. Ann Petersen taught Rebecca in Composition 1 at Western Iowa Tech during the fall of 2019. We fell in love with her because of her enthusiasm, caring heart and her empathy for others. One of the students in our class had never had a birthday party and so we asked all of the students to create a card for the girl in celebration of her birthday. Instead of a card, Becca painted a beautiful picture for her. When Becca gave the picture to the girl, we all cried. I will never forget that special moment that I will tuck in my heart and remember every time I think of Rebecca. She will be missed.”
