DeLoris Ann Stewart, age 91, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Morningside Care Center of Ida Grove, Iowa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2020, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Rev. Richard A. Salcido will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. A Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa.

DeLoris Ann Stewart, the oldest of five children born to Evelyn (Kiertzner) Rehse and Walter Rehse, Sr., was born on November 19, 1928, in Ida Grove, Iowa. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa, in 1928 and later confirmed in 1942. She grew up on the family farm northwest of Ida Grove, Iowa and graduated from Ida Grove High School with the class of 1947.

In the fall after graduation, DeLoris started teaching country school in Corwin Township. On June 6, 1948, she was united in marriage to Frank Stewart in the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove. The couple settled down on the Stewart family farm south of Ida Grove and were blessed with three children: Frank, Jr., Diane, and Susan.

DeLoris loved big band music and in her younger years enjoyed dancing at the Cobblestone in Storm Lake. She also enjoyed attending church circle, reading, gardening, canning, baking and cooking, college basketball, and helping at the local 4th grade country school days. DeLoris treasured her time spent with her family and took pride in entertaining and preparing a meal.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Diane (friend Harry Sigg) Stewart of Cedar Rapids, IA and Susan (Brian) Boland of Schleswig, IA; daughter-in-law Kristine Stewart of Bloomington, IN; seven grandchidlren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary (Al) Corbin of Ida Grove, IA and Rheta Negless of Anoka, MN; sister-in-law Janet Rehse of Ida Grove, IA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

DeLoris was preceded in death by her parents Evelyn and Walter Rehse, Sr.; husband Frank Stewart, Sr.; son Frank Stewart, Jr.; granddaughter Alicia Stewart; siblings Walter Rehse, Jr. and Elaine Ehlen.
