Lois E. Johnson, 87, of Wall Lake, IA passed away on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020.

The daughter of Rev. Clarence and Elvie (Anderson) Johnson, Lois was born on October 01, 1933, in Moline, IL. She graduated from Willmar High School in Minnesota in 1951 and pursued her nursing degree at Lutheran Hospital School for Nursing in Moline, where she graduated with her RN in 1951.

On February 24, 1956, Lois was united in marriage to Pastor Victor “Vic” Johnson in Chicago, IL. Their first parish was in Shell Lake, WI where they welcomed the birth of their first child, Janet. In 1961 the family moved to Raytown, MO, and welcomed their second child, Steven. Throughout this time, Lois treasured raising her family and shared her compassion as a RN at hospitals, clinics, and care centers.  From 1972 to 1979, the family lived in Houston, TX, where Lois was employed as the head secretary for the Physics Department at the University of Houston. They then relocated to Dayton, IA before eventually moving to Odebolt, IA in 1987.  They remained in Odebolt until 2001, when Lois and Vic retired to Wall Lake, IA.  While in Wall Lake, they were active members of the community and faithful parishioners of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carroll, IA.

Lois loved to share her talents. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, and sewing handmade gifts from the heart. From baby blankets to graduation quilts her love for her family was never ending. She will fondly be remembered as “Hofey” by her grandchildren.  Lois was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Left to cherish her memory include her sister Martha Coakley of Lowell, IN; children Janet (Dr. David) Blackburn of Boerne, TX and  Dr. Steven (Chrissy) Johnson of Palatine, IL; 9 grandchildren: Dr. Megan (Zach) Lawson, Sarah (Nelson) Allen, Brad Blackburn, Matt Blackburn, Dan Johnson, Alex Johnson, Sean Wasserman, Tyler Wasserman and James Victor Johnson; 3 great-grandchildren: Oliver Lawson, Soren Lawson and Mac Allen;.
