George Russell “Butch” Trullender, was born in Alexandria, Virginia, on April 16, 1942, to George W. Trullender and Dorothy (MaGruder) Trullender.
George spent his life growing up in Virginia with his parents, two brothers Warren and Harvey, favorite Uncle and Aunt, Gene and Maggie Higgins, as well as many other extended family members.
At age 18, he enlisted into the Air Force and transitioned into the U.S. Army, spending 20 years of active military service traveling all over the world.
After his retirement from the military, he went onto work for Mau Trucking until his retirement at age 50. The fun really began for him when he started pursuing his life-long dream of aviation, which led him to opening TW Aviation, downtown Ida Grove.
George enjoyed many things in life, he was a master at making anything grow, indoor plants to vegetable gardens. He loved to cook old-time family recipes, stemming out of the Depression era. Our family favorites were his chicken and dumplings and bread pudding. He especially loved the holidays, Christmas being his favorite, making huge traditional feasts for his family while he was able. He loved life and tried to live it to the fullest.
George passed away December 13, 2020, due to complications with Covid-19. He will be missed by all who loved him.
