Laurie L. Petersen, age 53, of Battle Creek, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at the MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa.

No services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Battle Creek, Iowa, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.  Condolences may be sent online at www.christensenvanhouten.com

Laurie Lenae Petersen, the daughter of Clifford and Lillian (Miller) Reed, was born on January 10, 1968, in Battle Creek, Iowa. Laurie attended Maple Valley High School in Mapleton, Iowa and then studied at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa.

On October 21, 1996, Laurie married Scott Petersen in Battle Creek, Iowa. They were blessed with two sons: Dustin and Jerod.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband Scott Petersen of Battle Creek, IA; sons Dustin and Jerod Petersen of Battle Creek, IA; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
