Kevin M. Nulle, age 64, took the hand of his Lord and Savior on August 13, 2021. Born on March 31, 1957, in Denison, Iowa, to Merlin and Alta (Justice) Nulle, he grew up on a farm south of Westside, Iowa, until 1967 when he moved to a farm north of Westside. He graduated from Ar-We-Va Community Schools in 1975.

After graduation, Kevin attended Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa, where he earned a degree in construction in 1976. On September 3, 1977, Kevin married the love of his life, Kimberly “Kim” Reis, at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. The couple made their home in Ida Grove, Iowa and were blessed with three children: Hope, Matthew, and Mark.

Kevin started Nulle Construction in 1977 which he owned and operated for 44 years building log cabins, houses, steel buildings, baseball diamonds, garages, apartment complexes, and performing radon mitigation. Kevin was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he volunteered his time, including donating resources for snow removal for more than 20 years. Kevin’s greatest JOY in life was anything to do with his children and grandchildren. His greatest personal achievement was watching his adult children flourish in life. He could not have been prouder of his wonderful family.

“My sympathies to the Nulle families on the the passing of Kevin. Just heard about it this afternoon and am completely floored. I've always considered Kevin as a friend. Our parents were friends and we became friends growing up by being the same age at dances at the Five-Mile House and friendly competition in sports. Every once in a while we would run into each other and we could pick up a conversation again. Once again my condolences on the loss of a good man and friend.”

“I only knew Kevin for a very short time, but he was one of the most personable people I have ever met. He was the contractor hired to complete some work on my home and actually came to Menards to help me through the process of purchasing what I needed. That kind of customer service is almost unheard of these days. Kevin was always talking about his wife and how much he loved and adored her. What a great guy he was!”

“Kevin's family has my deepest sympathy. I would occasionally see Matt in Omaha at a client office and he would keep me current on what Kevin was up to. Was able to recently see Kevin and Kent at our Ar-We-Va class reunion (1975) and 2019 Westside town celebration. Kevin came to the reunion with an extensive memorabilia and archive collection and he gave us a ride in his golf cart. Thrills that will always be cherished. ”

“My sympathy to Kevin's family. Kevin and I played basketball together at Ar-We-Va. He loved the game and his shot was from the corner. While I've only seen Kevin a couple of times since we graduated (most recently at Westside's 2019 town celebration) I understand from talking to folks that Kevin was always willing to help others in need. I'm sure he and his service will be missed in the community. God's blessing to the family. ”
