In Memory of Fred J. Fletcher

Fred J. Fletcher, age 81, of Primghar, Iowa (formerly of Battle Creek, Iowa) passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the Aspire of Primghar, Iowa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2022, with a Visitation one-hour prior from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Pastor Shari O’Bannon will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek, Iowa.

Frederick James “Fred” Fletcher, the son of Walter and Lois (Nailor) Fletcher, was born on a farm southeast of Battle Creek, Iowa. He attended the Battle Creek Community School District. Fred resided in the Battle Creek and Ida Grove, Iowa, area for many years until moving to the nursing home in Primghar, Iowa. 

During his lifetime, Fred worked a variety of manual labor jobs as well as working at Ida Sheltered Industries for several years.

Fred enjoyed reading books, listening to country music, and watching movies especially love stories. He liked gardening and tending to flowers as well as baking and traveling. Fred cherished time spent with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. 

Left to cherish his memory include his sister Elizabeth Hanshaw of Battle Creek, Iowa, as well as her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his father Walter Fletcher; his mother and stepfather Lois and Leonard Bush; brother William Fletcher; and several aunts and uncles.
