Gary Lee Jepsen, the son of Julius C. and Doris A. (Schable) Jepsen, was born on January 20, 1948, in Battle Creek, Iowa. He grew up on a farm near Correctionville, Iowa and received his education from Correctionville High School graduating with the class of 1966.
After high school, Gary was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to the Correctionville area and worked as a livestock farmer. He was blessed with six children: Sean, Juwillis, Tish, Taneal, Tegan, and Mick.
Gary enjoyed his weekly trips to the Denison and Dunlap sale barns to “shoot the shit” with his friends and sale barn family.
