Edward Ben Petersen, age 86, of Battle Creek, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center of Omaha, Nebraska.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, with visitation held one hour prior from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Pastor Rev. Dr. Jim Edwards will officiate. Committal Service will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek, Iowa.

Edward Ben Petersen, age 86, of Battle Creek, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center of Omaha, Nebraska.
Born on February 25, 1938, in Battle Creek, Iowa, Edward Petersen was the son of Ben and Dora (Schau) Petersen. He was a native of Battle Creek and lived in the area his entire life. On November 5, 1961, Edward married Sharon Peterson of Mapleton, Iowa.
Edward was a local farmer and trucker throughout his life. He loved to fish and tend to his garden in his free time along with playing cards with friends and family. In his later years he enjoyed the company of his cat and dog.
Those left to cherish his memory include his significant other of 25 years, Sue Burton; son Scott; and grandsons Dustin and Jerod Petersen all of Battle Creek, Iowa.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Dora Petersen; wife Sharon; and daughter-in-law Laurie Petersen.
