In Memory of Theone Bremer

Theone Bremer, age 80, of Ida Grove, Iowa, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, December 27, 2012.

                Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Ida Grove, Iowa, with The Reverend Chad Lierman officiating.  Burial will be in the Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, Iowa.  Visitation will be held at the Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Ida Grove on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. 

                Born November 12, 1932, in Holstein, Iowa, Theone Jean Bremer was the daughter of Claus and Matilda (Rochau) Ehrp.  She grew up in Merrill and Holstein, Iowa, and graduated from Holstein High School in 1951.

                On July 15, 1951, Theone was united in marriage to Verdean Bremer.  The couple began farming in the Holstein area and was blessed with four sons, Jeff, Steve, Mike, and Corey.  In earlier years, Theone was a member of the Methodist Church in Holstein, where she played the organ, participated in United Methodist Women, and served as secretary for several years.  She and Verdean retired in 1983, and made their home in Ida Grove.  They joined the First United Methodist Church and served as church custodians for 12 years and Theone faithfully served as church organist.  

                She and Verdean enjoyed the friendships they made playing in a card club in Holstein for many years, and kept busy camping, traveling, and going out for dinner.  Theone especially treasured her family and loved keeping up with their many activities.

                Survivors include her husband, Verdean; four sons, Jeff (Dawn) Bremer of Knoxville, Steve Bremer of Urbandale, Mike Bremer of Holstein, and Corey (Diane) Bremer of Ida Grove; ten grandchildren, Trevor (Tracy), Rochelle (Joe), Jared, Kendra, Amanda (Josh), Myka (Lance), Jesse, Jordan, Camron (Mallory), and Kirstyn (Jonny); five great-grandchildren, Lukas, Cash, Liv, Deagan, and Reid; as well as other extended family members and a host of friends.

                She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Sabrina Bremer; and two brothers, Lloyd and Verdine Ehrp.
