Trisha Lynn (Bresnahan) McCormick entered the world at the Hartly Hospital on April 7, 1963, in Battle Creek, Iowa. The beloved daughter of Roger and Sharon (Husted) Bresnahan. From her earliest days growing up in Ida Grove, Trisha radiated warmth, kindness, and an easy laugh that could fill a room.
She learned early the value of hard work and community, walking beans in the Iowa sun, lifeguarding at the local pool, teaching swimming lessons, and sharing her love for water through aerobics classes. Babysitting for neighborhood families came naturally, a reflection of the nurturing heart that would later make her such a devoted mother and friend.
Trisha graduated with the Ida Grove High School Class of 1981 and continued her education at the Spencer School of Business, where she pursued her passion in the Fashion Merchandise Program. Her flair for style and her gift for connecting with people led her to an opportunity with Godbersen Clothing & Bridal in Ida Grove.
On June 4, 1994, Trisha married the love of her life, Von McCormick, at the Ida Grove Skate Palace. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and faith, welcoming three beautiful children: Megan, Elle, and Beau.
When an opportunity arose, Trisha joined First State Bank in Ida Grove, a decision that became the cornerstone of her professional life for 35 years, before retiring due to health issues.
Trisha’s faith was her compass. A lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove, she received all of her sacraments there and raised her family in the same strong spiritual tradition. Her quiet strength, generosity, and devotion to God and family were constants that steadied those who knew her.
She enjoyed watching sunsets paint the skies over Black Hawk Lake in Lake View or the mountains of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Her adventurous spirit led her to once in a lifetime trips to Scotland, Ireland, Boston, and Alaska with her daughter, Elle, memories that became cherished stories of laughter and love.
Through faith and grace, Trisha touched every life she encountered. Her kindness a steady light, her smile a lasting gift. She will be remembered not only for all she accomplished, but for the way she made others feel seen, loved, and at home.
Welcoming Trisha into her heavenly home are her parents Roger Bresnahan and Sharon Husted; and paternal and maternal grandparents.
Left to carry her love forward are her husband Von McCormick of Ida Grove, IA; her children Megan (Fiancé Teagan Brown) McCormick of Urbandale, IA, Elle McCormick of Wichita, KS, and Beau McCormick of Ida Grove, IA; grandchildren Harlow and Mac; brother Jayme Bresnahan of Des Moines, IA; and father-in-law Dean McCormick of Ida Grove, IA.
