In Memory of Donna R. DeMey
Donna R. DeMey, age 87, of Denison, Iowa, passed away on March 29, 2026, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the Odebolt Cemetery of Odebolt, Iowa. Vicar Travis Brincks will officiate.

Donna Rae DeMey, the daughter of John B. and Ethel A. (Rydberg) Buehler, was born on October 5, 1938, in Odebolt, Iowa. She was baptized into her faith at the Odebolt Evangelical Lutheran Church (now known as Faith Lutheran) on October 29, 1939 and confirmed on June 8, 1952.
Donna was raised in the Odebolt area and graduated from Odebolt High School with the Class of 1956. She continued her education at Buena Vista College, where she earned her teaching certification. Donna went on to teach elementary school in the Council Bluffs School District for 15 years.
On June 17, 1962, Donna married Henry P. DeMey Jr. in Vermillion, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa, before returning to the Dow City–Denison, Iowa, area. They spent 22 winters in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, a time they greatly enjoyed. Donna and Henry shared 53 years of marriage before his passing in 2016.
In their free time, the couple enjoyed fishing and horseback riding, even traveling out West to ride together. Donna also loved tending to her large garden and canned the fruits of her labor.
Left to cherish her memory include nieces and nephews Bill, Karna, Pam, Kristin, Kandace, Ryan, and John; brother-in-law Lester; sister-in-law Julie; as well as other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ethel Buehler; husband Henry DeMey Jr.; sister Audrey; brother Darrel; and niece Amanda.
