In Memory of Kenneth E Gaskill

Kenneth E. Gaskill, age 74, of Denison, formerly of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Denison Care Center of Denison, Iowa.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. The Reverend Melba Smith will officiate. Military Rites will be conducted by the McNamara-Moore Post No. 61 of the American Legion of Ida Grove, Iowa. Kenneth E. Gaskill was born on September 6, 1941 in Iowa City, Iowa, to Kenneth R. and Esther Lorraine (Swanson) Gaskill.

Growing up on a farm near Larrabee, Iowa, he attended Larrabee Consolidated School. In 1960 Kenny enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, he was honorably discharged in 1963.

Entering into marriage to Loretta Negus, the couple had two children, Shelia and Dale. They later parted ways.

Besides farming and trucking, he enjoyed dancing and playing cards.

He is survived by his siblings, Russ Gaskill of Alta, Iowa, Don (Joan) Gaskill of Meriden, Iowa, Janet Schimmer of Galva, Iowa, Melba Smith of Galva, Iowa, Esther Snyder of Indianola, Iowa, Marilynn Arhart of Columbia Falls, Montana; special friend, Marlene Kennedy of Ida Grove, Iowa; daughter, Sheila Klingborg of Aurelia, Iowa, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth R. and Esther Lorraine Gaskill; son, Dale Gaskill; three brothers-in-law, Lloyd Arhart, Elvin Schimmer and Ron Snyder; sister-in-law, Karen Gaskill and niece, Heather Hantsbarger.
