Janice M. Hedberg, age 76, of Newell, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital, of Des Moines, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. The Rev. Kevin J. Freese will officiate, with committal services following in the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek, Iowa. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Janice Marlene Hedberg, the daughter of Walter and Marian (Malone) Klinker, was born on December 22, 1939. Janice was raised in Denison, Iowa.
On December 15, 1958, Janice was united into marriage to Edward Hedberg in Denison, Iowa. The couple made their home in Battle Creek, Iowa and were blessed with five children, Shawn, Edwin, Glen, Judy, and Allen.
The family lived in various areas and made their forever home in Newell, Iowa.
A strong Christian women, Janice enjoyed quilting with her lifelong friends Karen Schwadt, Arlene Pedersen and Sandy Terwilliger. Along with her love for quilting, Janice enjoyed animals, crafts, her grandchildren, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 57 years, Edward Hedberg of Newell, IA; children, Shawn (Jeff) Gorsett of Sioux City, IA, Edwin Hedberg of Sioux City, IA, Glen (Jennifer) Hedberg of Roseburg, OR, Judy Boysen of Sioux City, IA, and Allen Hedberg of Holstein, IA; fifteen grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild; brothers, Ron Klinker of Hastings, IA and Dale Klinker of California; sisters, JoAnn Kamber of Des Moines, IA, Jolene Dohm of Omaha, NE, and Joyce Street of Oklahoma; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Judy Klinker; two brothers, Larry Klinker and Bob Klinker.
