Herb attended parochial school until the 9th grade when his father broke his neck and he was needed to help on the farm. Herb was an 11 year member of the Jolly Soldier’s 4-H group while growing up. Herb worked on the farm most of his life. He enjoyed playing cards, softball, bowling, gardening, and spending time with his family when he wasn’t working. In his later years he enjoyed sitting on front stoop and visiting with family and friends.
