Robert “Bob” Groene, age 60, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.

A Vigil Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Christensen – Van Houten Funeral Home, of Ida Grove, Iowa. Father Richard D. Ball will officiate. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Christensen – Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa. The Christensen -Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. The family of Bob Groene request no flowers.    Robert “Bob” Groene was born August 13, 1957, in West Point, NE, the son of Paul and Margaret (McNally) Groene. Bob grew up on a farm near Dodge, NE and graduated with the class of 1976 from Dodge High School.

   Left to cherish his memory include his brothers Dr. Jim (Wendy) Groene, Rich (Joy) Groene and Mike (Barb) Groene; sisters Claudia Groene Stuben and Jan (Dr. Dave) Groene Mlnarik; brother-in-law Jim Bacome; ex-wife Cindy Groene and her daughters Michelle (Matt) Hagge, Kristy (Kevin) Feddersen and their daughters Ashton, Paige; numerous nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Margaret (McNally) Groene; sister Trish Groene Bacome; brother-in-law Bill Stuben.

   Through his generous donation to the Iowa Donor Network, Bob’s life will live on.
