Jerry Arbegast, age 64, of Arthur, Iowa passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2019, at the St. Martin’s Catholic Church of Odebolt, Iowa. Committal Services will follow in the St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery of Odebolt, Iowa. A Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. from 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the St. Martin’s Catholic Church of Odebolt, Iowa. Jerry Lee Arbegast, one of 14 children born to Stanley and Alvera (Lansink) Arbegast, was born on June 1, 1954, in Ida Grove, IA. He grew up in Arthur and graduated from Odebolt-Arthur High School with the class of 1972.

On March 9, 1974, Jerry married the love of his life Angela Marie Ehrig and the couple were blessed with four children Jennifer, Joey, Jared and Janene.

Jerry was employed in the past by Midwest Industries, Neville Trucking and the Arthur Elevator, before starting his own trucking business Jerry Arbegast Trucking.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Jerry loved the simple things in life and treasured his moments spent with family and friends. He enjoyed visiting, spoiling the grandkids and tinkering in his shop.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Angie Arbegast of Arthur, IA; children Jennifer (Kelly) Greaves of Thornton, CO, Joey (Angie) Arbegast of Lake View, IA, Jared (Jeana) Arbegast of Sheffield, IA, and Janene Arbegast of Arthur, IA; grandchildren Liam Greaves; Amber, Rheanna, Dawsyn, Caden and Ashlyn Arbegast; Jacquelyn, Jarel, Raegan, and Rafe Arbegast; and Keenan Hakanson; siblings Gene Arbegast of CA, Marie (Darrell) Cook of TN, Joyce Flink of Odebolt, IA, Neil Arbegast of Ida Grove, IA, Mary Lou Redenius of Arthur, IA, Kay Johnston of FL, Jim Arbegast of Erie, CO, Paul Arbegast of Arthur, IA, Judy Hein of Morris, MN, Linda (Mark) Ashenback of TN, LaRae (Tre) Madison of Port Orchard, WA, and Brian (Julie) Arbegast of Minot, ND; mother-in-law Catherine Ehrig of Ida Grove, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by parents Stanley and Alvera Arbegast; maternal and paternal grandparents; father-in-law Leo Ehrig; brother Jodie Arbegast; brothers-in-law George Ehrig, John Ehrig, Keith Flink, and Mike Hein.
