Anthony “Tony” J. Boysen, age 60, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa, with committal services following in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. Father William A. McCarthy will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:45 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Anthony “Tony” John Boysen, was born on October 31, 1960, in Battle Creek, Iowa. One of ten children born to Melvin and Alice (Wieling) Boysen. He grew up in the Danbury, Iowa, area, where he received his education and graduated from Maple Valley High School, class of 1979.
On February 7, 1981, Tony married his Kindergarten sweetheart, Mary Kay Weber in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury, Iowa. The marriage was blessed with four children Nathan, Amber, Kyle, and Darek.
Growing up and for the beginning of his working career, Tony helped on the family farm most of all enjoyed milking cows. He later was employed by United Builders of Ida Grove, Iowa, where he worked until they closed their doors. Tony then started his career in the fertilizer industry in Battle Creek and Danbury until a back injury prevented him from continuing. Most recently, Tony enjoyed lending a helping hand to a neighbor and close friend on the farm.
Tony had a passion for restoring and tinkering on his Farmall tractor collection. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. The highlight in his later years was his grandchildren. He always had a piece of hard candy tucked away in his pocket for each of them.
Tony was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Tony was called to his heavenly home on September 4, 2021, after a long-fought battle, surrounded by his loving family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary Boysen of 40 years of Ida Grove, IA; children: Nathan (Kristin) Boysen of Ida Grove, IA, Amber Moser of Battle Creek, IA, Kyle Boysen (Steven Koch) Omaha, NE and Darek (Nicole) Boysen of Battle Creek, IA; grandchildren: Colton, Carson, Maggie, Carter, Hunter, Piper, Marley, Brynley, and Tonie; siblings: Jean Casteel of Gretna, NE, Bill (Karen) Boysen of Alliance, NE, Bob (Evelyn) Boysen of Graham, TX, Pat (Tom) Knutson of St. Paul, NE, Shirley Boysen of Danbury, IA, Linda (Kevin) Simmons of Mapleton, IA, Dick Boysen of Danbury, Betty (Jerry) McBride of Danbury, IA, and Ken (Kim) Boysen of Danbury, IA; brothers & sisters-in-law: Jack (Barb) Weber of Ida Grove, IA, Jane (Jim) Lansink of Ida Grove, IA, Dennis (Peggy) Weber of Mapleton, IA; and Joe (Linda) Weber of West Point, NE.; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Alice Boysen; parents-in-law Raymond and Rita Weber; and step-mother-in-law Marian Weber.
