Cynthia Ann “Cindy” (Jensen) Davis was born on September 29, 1955, to Marvin and Lois (Riessen) Jensen. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and graduated from Battle Creek Community High School.

She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Davis on November 11, 1972. They were blessed with four children: Sheryl, Jeremie, Greg, and Bonita. Cindy was a stay-at-home mom while the children were young, later working for Food Pride in Ida Grove, Iowa, as a night manager. In addition, she worked side-by-side with Jerry after they moved to the farm near Midway.

Cindy attended Briar Cliff College graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and minors in Math and Psychology. After graduating, Cindy worked at the two hospitals in Sioux City, Iowa, until 2001 when she took a position at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa. She eventually became the house supervisor on the medical surgery floor.

While continuing her nursing profession and farming, she also took great pride in designing and helping to build their current home near Correctionville, Iowa. In 2017 Cindy took early retirement from nursing and spent the next several years helping Jerry on the farm, traveling, taking cruises, and visiting wineries while her health allowed it.

Cindy enjoyed time with her grandchildren, playing card games, sewing, machine embroidery, reading, trapping, and fishing. She was quite proud of catching the largest fish from the family pond, reminding Jerry often that while he “may have caught the most, I caught the largest”. She had the fish mounted and it is proudly displayed in their living room.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 49 years, Jerry Davis of Correctionville, IA; children Sheryl (Dave) Flynn of Kansas City, KS, Jeremie (Helen) Davis of Danville, CA, Greg Davis (special friend Amber) of Battle Creek, IA and Bonita (Kyle) Hansen of Ida Grove, IA; grandchildren Harrison Helfrecht and Hannah Flynn, Austin and Dylan Hansen, Gabe and Luke Davis; her mother Lois Jensen of Battle Creek, IA; brother Gary (Reta) Jensen; sisters Diana Sexton and Deb Jensen; sisters-in-law Connie Benson and Cheryl (Ken) Allen; brothers-in-law Rick (Cindy) Davis and Larry Davis; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Marvin Jensen; infant sister Bonita Ann Jensen; mother-in-law Bernadine Davis; Conrad and Edna Schultz; sister-in-law Laurel Davis; and nephew Bryan Wilcke.
