Dean Allen Davenport was welcomed into his eternal home on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa.

Born on August 3, 1954, in Cherokee, Iowa, Dean was the son of John and Darleen (Stamp) Davenport. He grew up in Galva, Iowa, and graduated from Galva High School with the class of 1972.

After graduation, Dean commenced in helping David Bettin with his farming operation east of Odebolt, Iowa. With a love of the land, Dean enjoyed farming with the Bettin’s throughout his lifetime. He also worked for Midwest Industries in Ida Grove, Iowa, for 30 years before taking employment with Ida Grove Homes which he retired from due to injury. Dean was a faithful member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Odebolt, Iowa.

Dean loved his community and with a heart of gold he served them as a EMT for 15 years and a local fireman for 20. He was always thinking of others before himself especially his daughter Stephanie and grandchildren Alex, Kylie, and Tori; who were the light of his life.

He treasured spending time with family, attending his grandchildren events, farming, joking around, international tractors, and snuggling his beloved yorkie Harley.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Stephanie (Tony Stonerook) Hauser of Wall Lake, IA; grandchildren: Alex, Kylie, and Tori Hauser; brothers: Dale Davenport of Galva, IA, Charles Davenport of Le Mars, IA, and Glen Davenport Paso Robles, CA; sisters: Kay Cork of Ida Grove, IA, Zoe Spitz of The Villages, FL, and Janet Hansen of Cherokee, IA; step children: Sandy (Allen) Boeckman of Lake View, IA, Keith Brandt of Sac City, IA, and Steve Brandt of Wall Lake, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and extended family.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents John and Darleen Davenport, and brother-in-law John Cork.
