Richard “Bulbs” Lee Jordan, age 74, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the St. Anthony Regional Hospital of Carroll, Iowa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Rev. Neil Wehmas will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Richard Lee Jordan, the son of Clifford and Bertha (Allen) Jordan was born on August 31, 1949, in Denison, Iowa. Richard grew up on a farm in Vail, Iowa, where he received his education and graduated from Ar-We-Va Community School District. Richard then went on to further his education in mechanics graduating from tech school in 1968.

On November 29, 1969, he married his loving wife Connie Nielsen and to this union they were blessed with two children, Wendy and Ryan. The family made their forever home in Ida Grove, Iowa.  

Shortly after Richard and Connie were married, Richard left to proudly serve his country in the Vietnam War. Richard served his country overseas in Vietnam before being honorably discharged.   

Richard spent the majority of his career working as a mechanic for McCormick Motors of Ida Grove. Later in his career he begun working for GOMACO in Ida Grove before being forced into retirement at an early age due to health reasons.

Richard loved the outdoors. In his earlier years he would go trapping for all types of animals. He loved deer hunting, fishing and ice fishing. One of Richard’s favorite outdoor activities was spending his mornings sitting outside next door solving the world's problems with his best friend Tom Bell. They were often joined by neighbor Chris Clausen to help them solve these problems.

Survivors include his wife Connie of Ida Grove; daughter Wendy (Van) Mosier of Ida Grove; son Ryan (special friend Charissa Howland) of Ida Grove; grandchildren: Vandy (Shane) Spellman, Billie (Andrew) Mosier, Evan, Carson and Carli Jordan; father-in-law Melvin Nielsen of Ida Grove; sister Mona Jordan of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law Mark (Lanette) Nielsen of Ida Grove; two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew.

Richard was proceeded in death by his parents Clifford and Bertha Jordan; step-mother Marge; grandson Elliot Jordan; great-grandson Jordan Reed; mother-in-law Rose Nielsen; and other family members.
