“I am so sad to hear of Dolores' passing! She was one of a kind - in talent, in spirit and in the legacy she left with the old friends who loved her. ”

“Just saw the news of my friend's passing. Dolores Modrell was one of the most beautiful pianists I have ever known. She definitely was the most interesting person I ever interviewed during my days at the Ida County Pioneer Record. Her love for animals matched mine. I even visited her in New York City in 1992. What a hoot she was! May her dear soul rest in peace, and may she welcome all of us with her beautiful music. My sympathy to the family. You have lost so many loved ones.”

“I am sad to learn of Delores's death. She was a lovely, intelligent, talented, true friend. May I add to her information that she is the person who taught Whitney Houston to play the piano early in Whitney's singing career.”
- Rita Goodenow
