Martin F. “Marty” Horstman, age 72, of Holstein, Iowa, (formerly of Battle Creek, Iowa), passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
A Private Family Memorial Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Father William A. McCarthy will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Martin F. “Marty” Horstman, the fourth child of seven born to Fredrick and Lorraine (Negless) Horstman, was born on September 12, 1951.
A lifelong resident of Battle Creek, Iowa, Marty grew up on a farm West of Battle Creek and graduated from Battle Creek High School with the class of 1969. For 30 plus years, Marty worked as a road maintainer for Ida County Secondary Roads.
Survivors include his children: Tom, Kim, Dan, Sarah, Rachel, Greg, Ryan, Kristina, and Justin; sisters: Sharon Sandford, Myrna Uhl, Connie Horn, and Shelia Ipsen; along with extended family and friends.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick and Lorraine Horstman; sister Theresa Uhl; and brother Reggie Horstman.
