Ted “Three Doors” Andrew Cassidy, age 92 of Battle Creek, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at his home of Battle Creek, Iowa, surrounded by loved ones.

Graveside services will be held at a 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Highland Cemetery of Lynch, Nebraska. Pie and coffee will follow at the Lynch Community Center of Lynch, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Loving husband, father, and grandfather to all, Ted “Three Doors” Andrew Cassidy, was born in Lynch, Nebraska, to Patrick and Alice (Norwood) Cassidy on October 10, 1932. Ted grew up on the family farm in Lynch. He graduated from Lynch Public High School and was drafted into the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

On July 27, 1957, Ted married Velma Crawford. They moved to San Diego, California, where they were blessed with four children: David, Brenda, Patrick, and Dawn. Ted spent the majority of his career being a heavy equipment operator digging swimming pools.

In his earlier years Ted enjoyed square dancing and fishing. After retirement he enjoyed sporting events, treasure hunting, and TV (games shows, the fights, his stories, and Judge Judy). 

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Velma Cassidy of Battle Creek, IA; children David (Dawn Stoklasa) of Columbia, TN, Brenda Cassidy of Lynch, NE, Pat (Ruth) Cassidy of Marysville, WA and Dawn Cassidy of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Katelyn Cassidy, Breanna (Robert) Pepper, Patrick, William, and Ronnie Cassidy, Ruthie (Cody) Weibel-Cassidy, and Deshane (Elvia) Zeno; along with two great-grandchildren Reagan and Logan Pepper; sister Bonnie Loock of O’Neill, NE; brother Chet (Rose) Cassidy of Fullerton, CA; many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; brother Duane; grandson Angel; daughter-in-law Kim; and son-in-law Galen.

“So sorry to hear that Ted passed away. He is now pain free and at peace with his Lord. I know that the Lord welcomed him with open arms as He had a special place reserved for him in his beautiful garden. Sending my sympathy,prayers, thoughts and love. I think of you often.
