Margaret Ann Elizabeth Hopkins, the daughter of James E. and Lazetta “Sadie” (Konradi) Hopkins, was born on October 4, 1941, in Ida Grove, IA. Margaret was raised in the Ida Grove, Schaller, Correctionville, Galva, and Wall Lake, IA, areas. She graduated from Wall Lake High School with the class of 1960. After graduation, Margaret married and began her own family.

Over the years, Margaret worked at various jobs but a few of her favorites included owning and operating Mary’s Dairy in Early, IA and cleaning houses. Both jobs allowed her to visit with her customers, which she truly enjoyed.

Margaret was a faithful and active member of the St. Martin Catholic Church of Odebolt, IA. She enjoyed working on the family farm and owning livestock, anything from dairy cattle and pigs all the way to a small Chihuahua. There was always at least one dog at her house with the latest being Spot and Buddy. She also loved traveling, dancing and playing cards with friends. Margaret was always willing to help a friend. She especially enjoyed holiday gatherings with her family and playing games with her granddaughters, even going as far as to cause some mischief with them.

Left to cherish her memory include her children James (Pam) Teague of Holstein, IA, Ron (Amber) Teague of Sac City, IA and Mary (Tim) Gunderson of Kiron, IA; grandchildren Bryce Teague of Ida Grove, IA, Jacie (Caleb) Degner of Newell, IA, Jessica Gunderson of Fort Dodge, IA and Amanda (Jackson) Smith of Spencer, IA; brother Joseph (Susan) Hopkins of Burnsville, MN; as well as other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Sadie Hopkins; brother Francis Hopkins; sister Sister Mary Jane Hopkins; as well as her special long-time friend Rodney Stuenkel.
