In Memory of Mary M. Jochims

Mary M. (Thies) Jochims, age 71, of Oologah, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2025.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the St. Martin’s Catholic Church of Odebolt, Iowa. Father Joseph Dillinger will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery of Odebolt, Iowa.

Mary Magdelene Jochims was born on November 10, 1953, in Carroll, Iowa, to Linus and Clara (Ziegman) Thies. 

Throughout her life, Mary was known for her kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family. She loved to crochet, quilt, watch college sporting events, tend to her garden, and bake for her family. Her passions brought joy to those around her and reflected her gentle, nurturing spirit. 

Playing card or dice games with her children and grandchildren along with all of her cooking/baked goodies will be truly missed. Mary’s love and presence touched many lives, and her unconditional love will be remembered forever. 

Mary will be deeply missed by her husband Robert Jochims Jr. of Oologah, OK; son Lee (April) Wallace of Cherokee, IA; daughter Maggie (Jason) Spoonemore of Billings, MT; grandchildren: Devynne (Tyler Bezoni) Reis, Austin Norris, Devin Wallace, Marrisa Jochims, Brendon (Aubrey) Wallace, Bronsan (Aspen Woodall) Reis, Maranda Clancy, Alekzander Wallace and Hailey Spoonemore; great-grandchildren: Aspenn Bezoni, Breyer Wallace, Laken Wallace, Rainer Bezoni, Ava Wallace and Kolton Wallace. 

She is also survived by her siblings Joan Lund and special friend Paul Miller of Tucson, AZ, Ron (Zanet) Thies of Ida Grove, IA, Richard (Sherry) Thies of Arthur, IA, Diane (Gary) Boerner of Gowrie, IA, Rudy (Deanna) Thies of Arthur, IA and Linnea (Bill) Hopp of Cedar Rapids, IA; mother-in-law Louetta Jochims of Ida Grove, IA; sister-in-law Valerie (Mark) Gamble of Sergeant Bluff, IA; many nephews and nieces, extended family and friends. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Linus and Clara Thies; brother Loren (Mary Ann) Thies; brothers-in-law Larry Kjar and Todd Jochims; and father-in-law Robert Jochims Sr.
