Trixie (Beatrice) Ann Knop, age 84, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center of Omaha, Nebraska.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2014 at the Christensen – Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa. The Father Richard D. Ball will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Christensen – Van Houten Funeral Home, of Ida Grove, Iowa. Trixie (Beatrice) Ann Knop was born on March 22, 1930, one of four children born to Anne O’Donnell in Harrow, England.
Trixie grew up in England and attended school. After graduating from high school she went on to further her education with two years of college.
Trixie met Herbert Knop and the couple were united into marriage on April 1, 1954 in Colchester, England. The couple were blessed with six beautiful children, Gary, Patricia, Michael, Jacqueline, Linda and Tracey.
The family came to live in Ida Grove, Iowa in 1978. You might remember Trixie as your friendly neighborhood bartender, waitress, or daycare provider. She worked at the Hillside, Country Club, Diamonds, Orchid Club, Juke Box 59, just to name a few. She enjoyed knitting, collecting dolls and owls, flowers, taking walks, listening to music (Bob Segar & Eric Clapton her all-time favorites), watching her grandchildren’s events, spending time with her family, and having a good conversation with a friend.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 60 years Herbert Knop of Ida Grove, Iowa; six children, Gary Knop of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Patricia McDaniel of Ida Grove, Iowa; Michael (Sue) Knop of Arthur, Iowa; Jacqueline (Randy) Struck of Schleswig, Iowa; Linda Knop and special friend Tina of St. Petersburg, Florida; Tracey (D.J.) Newman of Odebolt, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great grandchildren on the way; sisters, Evelyn Monteith and Josephine Williams of England; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Trixie was preceded in death by her mother Anne and her step father Charles Kaey; brother, Peter O’Donnell; and son-in-law Gary McDaniel.
