Trixie (Beatrice) Ann Knop was born on March 22, 1930, one of four children born to Anne O’Donnell in Harrow, England.

Trixie grew up in England and attended school.  After graduating from high school she went on to further her education with two years of college.

Trixie met Herbert Knop and the couple were united into marriage on April 1, 1954 in Colchester, England.  The couple were blessed with six beautiful children, Gary, Patricia, Michael, Jacqueline, Linda and Tracey.

The family came to live in Ida Grove, Iowa in 1978.  You might remember Trixie as your friendly neighborhood bartender, waitress, or daycare provider.  She worked at the Hillside, Country Club, Diamonds, Orchid Club, Juke Box 59, just to name a few.  She enjoyed knitting, collecting dolls and owls, flowers, taking walks, listening to music (Bob Segar & Eric Clapton her all-time favorites), watching her grandchildren’s events, spending time with her family, and having a good conversation with a friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 60 years Herbert Knop of Ida Grove, Iowa; six children, Gary Knop of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Patricia McDaniel of Ida Grove, Iowa; Michael (Sue) Knop of Arthur, Iowa; Jacqueline (Randy) Struck of Schleswig, Iowa; Linda Knop and special friend Tina of St. Petersburg, Florida; Tracey (D.J.) Newman of Odebolt, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great grandchildren on the way; sisters, Evelyn Monteith and Josephine Williams of England; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

“Oh the sweet memories that carry us. It was Trixie who taught me to make the PERFECT cup of tea. Our long walks and longer talks and the countless nights (often into the wee hours of the morning), playing our marathon canasta games. None of us cared if we were 8,000 in the hole... it was about the love, laughter and fun we had!
I have always said that Trixie and Ace were our best EVER neighbors!
That English accent that she refused to let go of and the fun we had listening to her... priceless!

Heaven is a richer place and the stars will shine ever brighter with our little Pixie Trixie. Love to all.
Doug and Bonnie”
