Charlotte Allen was born June 4, 1924, one of eleven children born to Oscar and Rose (Hook) Rubendall at the family home in Auburn, Iowa.  Charlotte’s parents moved to an acreage by Sac City, Iowa when she was 5 years old where she attended country school.

Charlotte married Stanley Allen on December 13, 1945, in Sac City, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Steven and Sandra.  Charlotte and Stanley resided on the family farm in rural Early until they bought their own place in 1954 and moved to rural Odebolt, Iowa, where she resided until 2015.

Charlotte was a loyal member of the Odebolt United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school  and was  active in United Methodist Women.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Charlotte worked side by side with Stanley on the family farm. She was an exceptional homemaker, a superb cook and loved to tend to her flowers and yard.  Charlotte followed and  thoroughly enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s  activities. In her later years she enjoyed restoring antique furniture and traveling to visit her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
