In Memory of Ardis L. Stauffer

Ardis L. Stauffer, age 92, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the Willow Dale Wellness Village of Battle Creek, Iowa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Faith Community Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Pastor Mark Aurand will officiate. Committal Services following in the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Faith Community Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Ardis La Vonne (Stamp) Stauffer was born October 8, 1924, near Holstein, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Lena (Moeller) Stamp.  She graduated with the class of 1942, from Galva, Iowa.  On June 7, 1945, she married Ernest Stauffer of Ida Grove, Iowa after his discharge from the Marines.  They farmed west of Ida Grove for nearly forty years.  She was both a farmer and homemaker in the farming venture and sharing in the fruits of their toil and sharing with others. 

Her interests were in cooking, dancing, playing cards, bird watching, and crossword puzzles.  She took great pleasure as a mother figure for her nieces.  She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Faith Community Church and was voted as lady of the year in 2007. 

Greeting her in death were her parents; husband of sixty years Ernest (2010); brothers Harlan (Filka) Stamp, Harlan passing from polio in Korea; and Wilbur (Violet) Stamp. She is survived by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
