In Memory of Glenn G. Segebart
Glenn G. Segebart, age 74, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Mercy Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Rev. Randy D. Cormeny will officiate; with Committal Services following in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a time of remembrance at 5:30 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. Glenn G. Segebart was born on February 13, 1943, in Dow City, Iowa, to George and Viola (Neubauer) Segebart. Glenn grew up in the Deloit and Denison, Iowa, area where he attended school
On April 2, 1966, Glenn was united in marriage to Marcella Marie Schroeder in the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. The couple settled down in Ida Grove, Iowa and were blessed with a son Dennis. Glenn was past employed at IBP in Denison, the Deloit Elevator, Co-op Incorporated later known as Berne Co-op of Ida Grove until he retired in 2008. Glenn was currently employed part-time with Crop Production Services of Ida Grove as spring help.
Glenn was an active and faithful member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Battle Creek, Iowa. He held various positions and served on several committees. Glenn enjoyed playing cards, fishing, camping, traveling, gardening, caring for his lawn, playing the accordion by ear and dancing in his younger years. He treasured every moment spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Ervin Segebart and Keith Segebart; sisters Bernice Segebart in infancy and Alyce Mae (George) Berndt; and brother-in-law Larry Wiegel
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years Marcella Segebart of Ida Grove, IA; son Dennis (Theresa) Segebart of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren Jaimee and Nicholas Segebart of Lee’s Summit, MO; brother Roger Segebart of Sugar Creek, MO; sisters Joyce Wiegel of Denison, IA and Elaine (Larry) Chervenka of Freedom, WI; sisters-in-law Voncille Segebart of Florida and Angie Segebart; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
