He graduated from Woodbine High School with the class of 1976. After high school, he attended Scott Community College in Davenport, IA and received his certification in solar technology.

“Tuesday night our group of girls from high school days net for supper. We talked about how unfair life can be when there is so much left to live. We marveled again at Mike's natural talent for painting in art class. He is remembered for his smile & his sense of humor, which made him a fun friend. Our hearts out with your family.”
