In Memory of Jack P. Milner
Jack P. Milner, age 76, of Arthur, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at the St. Martin’s Catholic Church of Odebolt, Iowa. Deacon Butch Stone will officiate. Jack P. Milner, the son of Charles and Isabelle (Voss) Milner, was born on August 02, 1941, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Jack grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1960.
On September 28, 1980, Jack married the love of his life Barbara Ann Fineran in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Jack had various employment throughout his lifetime. He worked for the railroad and Sears & Roebuck while residing in Council Bluffs. When the family relocated to Arthur, Iowa, Jack bartended for PooLoo’s Pizza and Lounge. He would also work as a farmhand and later at GOMACO. Jack retired from the Odebolt- Arthur School District where he served as a longtime custodian.
Jack was an avid Chicago Bears and Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed fishing, a cool beverage, and spending time with his family. Jack was a talented woodworker. He would make furniture and décor for his family, as well as sell a couple pieces at craft fairs along the way that he attended with his wife Barb. Jack and Barb loved viewing the freedom rocks and traveling to visit his family in Colorado and Texas.
Jack is survived by his children Scott (Sandi) Milner, Barbara (Kirk) Milner Murray, Gregory (Brenda) Mace, Christopher (Jerri) Mace, Tomi (Joel) Germar-Maple; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother Albert Milner; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by wife, Barbara A. Milner, his parents Charles G. and Isabelle (Voss) Milner; brother Charles V. Milner; sisters Sharon Fuhrman and Mary Alley; and granddaughter Catherine S. Germar-Maple.
