LeRoy William Wonder was born June 7, 1927, in Soldier Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the oldest son of William C. and Clara (Kluver) Wonder.  He attended rural school in Soldier Township and graduated at the age of 15 from Schleswig High School in 1943.

“Dear Dorene and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time. I have great memories of the visits and trips we had with you and LeRoy. It meant the world to Brian and me when the two of you came to Montrose for our wedding reception. We still have the videos of your 60th anniversary and all those tractors out at the farm! Also, enjoyed when LeRoy showed us his John Deere Collection in your basement when we stayed at your home and we had those good margaritas at the restaurant in Galva. It is always sad when our love one leaves us but we know that someday we all be together again. Rest in peace, LeRoy, it was an honor and privilege knowing you.”

“Aunt Dorene - This is when the miles between us feel so wide. All of the wonderful summers I got to spend on the farm with you and Uncle Leroy were so special. You and dad always taught us that family is always there for each other, even when we don't get to see each other as often as we would like. Please know that you, Cathy, Rick, Rod and Randy are in our thoughts. Love to all of you from all of us in Colorado.
