Born December 31, 1935, in Danbury, Iowa, Marilyn Marie Boyle was the daughter of Albert and Bernice (Boysen) Reimer. She grew up and received her education in Danbury, and helped several families in the area raise their families.
On June 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Robert Boyle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury. The couple was blessed with 12 children.
Marilyn was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury where she participated in Altar Society. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.
Marilyn was a strong lady of faith. She will be remembered as a great listener with limitless patience due to the many hats she was forced to wear throughout her life. After Robert’s tragic death in 1978, she raised her family on the farm alone. Through example and hard work, including raising and butchering countless chickens, Marilyn instilled in her children a strong work ethic and firm morals and values. She always put others, especially her children, ahead of herself. She took time with people, loved to visit, and nurtured family and friends alike with her excellent cooking.
Survivors include 12 children, Richard (Kelli) Boyle of Holstein, Mark (Marilyn) Boyle of Danbury, Kevin (Mindi) Boyle of Manning, Steve (Judy) Boyle of Danbury, Jennifer (Todd) Pedretti of Denver, CO, Jane (Jay) Ingram of Danbury, Marty (Martha) Boyle of Holstein, Sharyl (Travis) Higgins of Ankeny, Craig (Sherrie) Boyle of Danbury, Melissa Knudsen of Danbury, Susie (Robert) Craig of Carroll, and Duane (Mindy) Boyle of Danbury; an “eighth son,” Darin Scheer of Charter Oak; 34 grandchildren; a brother, Paul “Butch” (Kay) Reimer of Danbury; and a sister, Lois Ekarius of Sealy, TX. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Vince (Dorothy) Boyle of Danbury, Jim (Marlene) Boyle of Danbury, and Bill (Barb) Boyle of Klamath Falls, OR; sisters-in-law, Sheila Theobald of Danbury, and Marge Nelson of Anthon; as well as many extended family members and a host of friends.
In addition to her husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother in infancy; a sister, Arlene “Punk” Reimer; and a brother-in-law, Marty Boyle.
