William “Bill” Ogren, age 79, of Odebolt, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2021, at the United Methodist Church of Odebolt, Iowa. Rev. Ken Miller will officiate. A Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the United Methodist Church of Odebolt, Iowa. Military Rites will be conducted by the Roose Post No. 313 of the American Legion of Odebolt, Iowa. Committal Services will be held at a later date in the Odebolt Cemetery of Odebolt, Iowa.

William E. “Bill” Ogren, the son of Wayne and Roberta (Williams) Ogren, was born on April 6, 1942, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up on a farm located east of Odebolt, Iowa, and received his education at Odebolt-Arthur Community School graduating with the class of 1960.
After graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force and after serving a short time was honorably discharged. After being discharged, Bill worked in a number of grocery stores before purchasing his first store in 1971 in Wall Lake, Iowa, Ogren Super Valu.
On March 5, 1976, Bill married Judy Kay Tebben in Watertown, South Dakota. Over the course of time Bill owned and operated many Super Valu Stores throughout Iowa and a Food 4 Less in Wyoming before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1986. While in Las Vegas, Bill and Judy flipped homes and later he entered the trucking industry, hauling across 48 states stopping to visit friends and family along the way. After retiring from the trucking industry, Bill and Judy relocated to Odebolt, Iowa, in 2012, to be closer to family. To keep busy during his retirement, Bill painted antique tractors for Jim Meyer.
Bill was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Odebolt, Iowa. He enjoyed watching the NFL and rooting on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bill also liked NASCAR, dancing, and treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Ogren of Odebolt, Iowa; children Carmen (Cecil) Moore of Advance, NC, Dan (Susan) Langbein of Carroll, IA and Susan Ogren of Charter Oak, IA; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Danny (Jerri) Ogren of Council Bluffs, IA and David (Maria) Ogren of Wisconsin; sisters Janice (Glenn) Determann of Wall Lake, IA and Linda (Mick) Scarmon of Elk Point, SD; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Roberta Ogren; first wife Joan (Campbell) Ogren and infant son David Ogren.
