James Edward “Jim” Druivenga, the son of Carl and Elsie (Wunschel) Druivenga, was born on August 4, 1938, in Sac County, Iowa. He grew up on the farm in rural Arthur, Iowa and attended Hayes Township Country School. When finished with his schooling, Jim began working at the auto body shop in Odebolt, Iowa and then eventually worked as a blacksmith for his uncle in Arthur.

On November 30, 1962, Jim was united in marriage to Janice Petersen at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two children: Brian and Brenda. The family made their home in the Battle Creek, Iowa, area. Jim was employed with Midwest Industries in Ida Grove for 45 plus years. He began as a welder and then moved into fabrication where he worked until his retirement.

Jim was not only an avid bowler but a competitive one as well. He enjoyed golfing, attending stock car races, and going to the casino. He liked playing cards; especially cribbage. Most of all Jim treasured going for drives in his beloved Charger during the summer. He was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church who will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory include his daughter Brenda (Mike) Stokes of Whiting, IA; grandchildren Aaron Stokes of Sioux City, IA and Allison Stokes of Ames, IA; brother Duane (Shirley) Druivenga of Battle Creek, IA; brothers-in-law Bill Weber of Tucson, AZ and Wayne Steinkuehler; sisters-in-law Sheila Petersen of Battle Creek, IA and Anita (Jim) Reitz of Seneca, KS; extended family and friends.
