Brenda D. Olerich, age 60, of Ida Grove, Iowa (formerly of Odebolt, Iowa) passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital of Omaha, Nebraska.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Odebolt, Iowa. Father Joseph Dillinger will officiate. Committal will follow in the St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery of Odebolt, Iowa. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Odebolt, Iowa.

Brenda Dee Olerich was born on September 27, 1960, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Earle and Mary Frances (Harrison) Schwaller. She grew up in Odebolt, Iowa and attended Odebolt High School graduating with the class of 1980. 

On July 18, 1980, Brenda was united in marriage to Kenneth Wiegel. To this union they had one son, Kenneth, Jr. The couple later parted ways.

Brenda was employed as a CNA at the nursing home, cleaned homes, and babysat. She enjoyed cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, listening to country music as well as watching Westerns on television and reading books. She was fondly referred to as Aunt B by her nieces and nephews. 

She is survived by her son Kenneth (Jasmine) Wiegel, Jr. of Fort Dodge, IA; two grandchildren Blaine and Atalissa Wiegel; two step-grandchildren Sammantha and Harlie Ruhe; brothers Ivan (Mica) Schwaller of Storm Lake, IA and Arlin Schwaller of Odebolt, IA; sister Theresa Vohs of Odebolt, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. 

Preceding her in death were her parents Earle and Mary Frances Schwaller; paternal grandparents Ed and Laura Schwaller; maternal grandparents Roy and Ona Harrison; brother Earle Schwaller, Jr.; and sister-in-law Toni Schwaller.
