Kasandra Ann “Kasey” Johnk, the daughter of Fred and Diane (Klaver) Campbell, was born on August 17, 1964, in Nebraska. The family relocated to Odebolt, Iowa, where Kasey received her elementary and middle school education in the Odebolt-Arthur Community School District. They then moved to Ida Grove, Iowa, where she attended Ida Grove High School graduating with the class of 1982.

After high school, Kasey entered the workforce. Over the years she worked a variety of jobs working for Pioneer Record, Nelson Photography, and as a DJ for KIDA. With a heart of gold, Kasey began a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant starting at Morningside Care Center of Ida Grove and then at Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove. You may remember Kasey for her smile and little chuckle as she delivered a beautiful bouquet of flowers, plant, or home décor for Flowers & More.

Kasey was blessed with three children: Cole, Devon, and Deandra. In November of 2015, Kasey married Lawrence “Larry” J. Johnk in the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Ida Grove. She welcomed his three children: Butch, Sarah, and Chelsey to the family and became the “bonus Mom”. In November 2017 they added a sweet little Yorkie to the family which Kasey lovingly named Noelle.

In her past time, Kasey enjoyed calligraphy, photography, bowling on Wednesday league, craft brewing, playing pool, gardening, canning, and taking road trips. She found comfort in cooking and loved trying new recipes. Her memory will live on in those who had the privilege to know and love her.

Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Larry Johnk of Ida Grove, IA; children Deandra Woebke (significant other Chris Noller) of Ida Grove, IA, Devon Corbin of Ida Grove, IA, Butch (Kandi) Ehrig of Ida Grove, IA, Sarah (Cody) Lomholt of Ida Grove, IA, Chelsey Johnk of Johnston, IA; eight grandchildren; her father Robert “Bob” Alborn of Ida Grove, IA; brothers Kurt Campbell of Carroll, IA, Kris (Becky) Campbell of Sioux City, IA and Stephen (Julie) Campbell of Colorado Springs, CO; and her beloved Yorkie, Noelle.

She was preceded in death by her mother Diane Alborn; father Fred Campbell; and son Cole Corbin.

“So sorry for your loss. Kasey was a wonderful kind and fun person and a fantastic CNA. She was a neighbor to Rogers mom and helped her so much at Morningside CC. You always knew when Kasey was close, the sound of her voice was just comforting to so many. May she have rest and peace, she fought the hard battle. She touched so many lives. Comfort to her family. ”

“With deepest sympathy to KC"s family and friends. She was a classmate of my mine in Odebolt. She left a lasting impression on everyone with her upbeat personality and kind soul. My late father nickname for her was noisy, as a pre teen , she would come to our farm for sleep over and would end up talking with him asking questions non stop., he enjoyed her inquisitive nature she was blessed with an ease and comfort with herself and others. True angel now in heaven. Prayers for your loss”
