In Memory of David John Fick

David John Fick, age 65 of Spokane, Washington, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at a nursing home in Spokane, Washington, after a brief illness. 

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa. Rev. Luann Benge will officiate.

David John Fick was born on August 18, 1957, in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Dwain Fick and Betsy Heydt. David lived in Minot most of his life. He married Sue Sterna later divorcing and marrying Mary Fick. David and Mary moved to Spokane, Washington, where Mary’s children lived. David and Mary divorced but stayed friends and David spent the last years of his life in Spokane.

David loved music and always wanted to be a radio DJ. He had a good radio voice and accomplished his lifelong goal in Montana. Later he created a website for people to listen to his music selections. He had good communication skills and used that talent as a telemarketer for many years until he became disabled. 

David enjoyed playing online games, staying close to extended family, and meeting new people through playing these games. David was a loyal friend and family member. If you were fortunate enough to be in his circle, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for you. 

Left to cherish his memories include his sister Sandy Everly of Altoona, IA; nephew Charles (Joann) Everly of Milan, MO; great nieces Nicole Fick, Charlie Jo Everly, Chloey Everly, and great nephew Josh Fick. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John and Lillian Fick; maternal grandparents Alfred and Hilda Blidegn; father Dwain Fick; mother Betsy Heydt; half-sister Gloria Jean Fick; and niece Christine Fick.
