Robert “Bob” Allen Uhl, son of George and Elizabeth (Livermore) Uhl, was born May 4, 1945, on a farm near Oto, Iowa.  In 1949, the family moved to a farm near Danbury, Iowa before making their home on a farm south of Battle Creek, Iowa in 1954 where Bob grew up with his three brothers:  Marshall, William “Bill” and Richard.

He attended Danbury Catholic School through his junior year and graduated from Battle Creek Community High School with the class of 1963.  During high school, Bob began farming with his dad and continued farming after graduation.

On January 4, 1969, Bob was united in marriage to Myrna Horstman at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury, Iowa.  The couple were blessed with six children:  Darron, Tracy, Brian, Darci, Robert “Rob” and Kory.  In January 1971, the family made their home on a farm south of Battle Creek, Iowa.

Bob loved farming but he especially enjoyed helping his sons on the farm later in life and took pride in their accomplishments.  In 1985 Bob began working at Midwest Industries in Ida Grove, Iowa where he was employed for 22 years.  He was a dedicated employee who enjoyed his job and his coworkers.  Bob never missed an opportunity to share a laugh or tell a good story from his days at Midwest.

Bob loved having his kids home and his grandkids visit.  For those of his kids living further away, he is fondly remembered for greeting them outside with a big smile and sending them off with tears in his eyes while waving goodbye.  Bob enjoyed watching TV (especially sports, game shows and news), singing and listening to music, having picnics with his family and taking drives throughout the countryside to look at crops and livestock.  In retirement, Bob enjoyed birdwatching and having coffee with his brother, Bill, and his brother-in-law, Marty Horstman.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Myrna Uhl of Battle Creek, Iowa; his children:  Darron (Jeannia) Uhl of Battle Creek, Iowa, Tracy (Mike) Mackey of Olathe, Kansas, Brian (Camila) Uhl of North Sioux City, South Dakota, Darci (Patrick) Schenck of South Bend, Indiana and Rob (Earleen) Uhl of Battle Creek, Iowa; grandchildren:  Tristen (Madie Vermeys) Goettsch, Jaden (Clint) Schug, Ethan (Hayley) Uhl and Garrisen Uhl; Mya Mackey; Suriana, Gabrielle and Wyatt Uhl; Braxten, Ryker and Zoi Schenck; Bradyn and Bailey Barber and Cole Uhl; great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Coralynn and Calvin Schug and sister-in-law, Charlotte Uhl.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Kory Uhl; parents, George and Elizabeth Uhl; brothers, Marshall (Sheryl) Uhl, William “Bill” Uhl and Richard (Theresa) Uhl and infant sister, Leann Uhl.
