Harry Arnold “Bud” Streck, Jr., age 75, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the Thomas Rest Haven of Coon Rapids, Iowa.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Trinity Grant Lutheran Cemetery of rural Ida Grove, Iowa. Military Rites will be conducted by the McNamara-Moore Post No. 61 of the American Legion of Ida Grove, Iowa. 

A Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Harry Arnold “Bud” Streck, Jr., the son of Sylvia Elma (Jensen) and Harry Albert Streck, Sr., was born on February 23, 1949, in Ida Grove, Iowa. He grew up in Schleswig, Iowa and received his education there until the end of his junior year. The family then moved to a farm near Ricketts, Iowa and Bud finished his education at Charter Oak-Ute High School graduating with the class of 1967.

In 1968, Bud was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge in 1970, he returned to Ida Grove. Bud was married to Tina Willeford and they were blessed with a son, Aric William, on July 14, 1979. Two years after Aric’s birth, the couple parted ways. Bud was employed at Gomaco for 41+ years where he worked in the assembly and testing departments. He retired in 2010.

In his spare time, Bud enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He attended Sturgis in South Dakota many times as well as attending other bike rallies with his motorcycle and several car shows with his corvette. Bud treasured time spent with his many friends and his son, Aric. On August 15, 2020, Harry’s son, Aric, married Jacki Meiners and he welcomed her into the family. Bud was known for telling many stories and joking around with his friends. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his son Aric (Jacki) Streck of Manning, IA; sister Judy (Jim) Lichtenberg of Ida Grove, IA; nieces and nephews Travis (April) Lichtenberg of Ida Grove, IA, Dawn (Gary) Chase of Arthur, IA, Chad Lichtenberg (fiancée Katie Flynn Barrett) of Boone, IA, Sonya Miller of Ankeny, IA and Tonya Daharsh of Omaha, NE; extended family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Sylvia and Harry Streck, Sr.; brother Steven Streck; and stepson Adam Willeford.
